Preparing for the Parents visit

Today wasn't about hedgies, it was about getting ready for my parent to visit tomorrow. Imagine, if you will, Martha Stewart popping in for a visit. Ya, mom's house is that clean (she also makes amazing dinners and desserts for large numbers of people, hand quilts full size quilts, and makes origami snow flakes). The problem is that I'm not her. I'm messy, and more at home in my chaos then in a spit shined environment. I've been cleaning and doing home improvements all week. The house looks great! The hedgehogs a neat, although because of the moms to be and moms with young babies the room does have a hedgie-like odor to it (Hey, lactating moms poop big and stinky). My air filter blew out when we lost power after a storm, so O well). Mom will find something to complain about, she always does. If the house meets her approval, she will pick on the cats, the hedgehogs, or my chubby butt (ya, I have gained a few lbs, but I won't sink any ships).

Dad is always laid back and relaxed when he visits. Ok, not always, but usually. Much more laid back then he is when I visit his house. He's kinda funny, he fixates on a problem and stews on what to do about it all day. So all throughout the day I get different ideas about how to stop trash from the messy neighbor's house from blowing into my yard (our last house) or what to do with an extra piece of furniture. It's a good thing..... just kinda funny and random.

I will have more odds and ends to clean up tomorrow before they arrive. Today was mostly about painting the dining room and getting the sconces up (I want the matching table lamp and can't find it). Everything really looks great.
