HedgEhog Staycations at Hamor Hollow
Are you going on holiday somewhere you can’t take your hedgie along? No problem! Hamor Hollow offers hedgehog boarding and sitting from $10/day. All boarded hedgehogs are kept in their own dedicated enclosure with no risk of mingling with other hedgehogs.
All hedgies start their staycation with a complimentary nail clipping, and are then pampered with Bag Balm and Dechra DermAllay Oatmeal Conditioner moisturizing treatments for ear and quill health. During their stay, they’ll also get plenty of exercise and playtime in one of our many single-hedgehog playpens outfit with mentally-stimulating toys and a Carolina Storm Hedgehog Wheel.
We obviously think we’re the best option for your hedgie’s staycation needs, but feel free to schedule a visit to meet us in advance.
We Can Help You Medicate Your Hedgie
If your hedgehog companion has special needs or medication requirements, we can also dispense medications prescribed or recommended by your veterinarian. Even if you’re not going on holiday, book a hedgie staycation with Hamor Hollow, and we can medicate and treat your hedgie for you.
All of our animals are seen by Hamilton Lincoln III, VMD at Andover Animal Hospital, whom we’ve worked with for 25 years. If a medical issue arises with your hedgehog during its stay, our close relationship with Dr. Lincoln allows us to quickly get a consult.
But don’t worry, we’ll contact you immediately before any fees are incurred.
Rates and Info
Hedgehog staycations are $10/day for hedgies that don’t have special needs or medications.
Staycations for hedgies that have special needs, such as hand feeding, wound care, and medications, are $15/day – $20/day depending upon the level of care needed.
Hamor Hollow’s Dry Pet Food Mix for Hedgehogs is provided free of charge. If your hedgie is eating something different, please supply your preferred food, as sudden diet changes can cause upset stomachs.
If your hedgie is staying for a full week (seven days), then the drop-off and pick-up days are free — seven days for the price of five!
To ensure the health and safety of boarded hedgehogs, we limit our boarding to a maximum of seven unrelated hedgies. Each hedgehog gets a name tag and contact information sheet attached to its enclosure so we always know who is who.
We understand that flights get delayed and travel plans change. If you need to delay pickup for any reason, we’re extremely flexible, and additional days can be added to your hedgie’s stay. Just let us know as soon as possible, and we’ll try our best to accommodate you, schedule permitting.
