Returning Home

We finally got on the road at around 11:30AM. It was a really long and smelly trip home, and I do not advise anyone to get themselves trapped in a car with 9 in-tack ferrets. They smell bad. Really really bad. They do this 'poofing' thing when they are arguing with each other.....imagine a fart, but a super-mega-ultra fart. If a dead skunk could fart, it would smell like ferret poof. Ya, it was that bad. And we couldn't roll down the windows because then the smell would circulate, gain power, and attempt to kill us. So between the poofing and the pooping, it was a long ride home. Val and I each bought air fixer- positive ion- smell buster units from a vendor at the show. The unit worked great in the hotel room, but unfortunately they didn't have a car version and we didn't have an outlet converter to plug it in for the way home. I'm hoping the unit works well enough to keep the hedgie room smelling fresh, and if it does I will let you know.

I made it home by 7:15PM, and man was it good to get home! Sean did a great job keeping the hedgehogs in line while I was gone. Well, except for Decal. Nobody keeps Decal in line; not even me. So I popped D back in her cage and lectured her on giving her father a hard time (She rolled her eyes and ignored me). I plugged the air filter in right away. The cages were just cleaned before I left on Friday and the room didn't smell, but why wait when I can prevent the smell from coming back?
